ASYR Receives Extraordinary $1 Million Gift for New Home
09/24/2025

BATESVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 24, 2025) – The Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches (ASYR) has received a $1 million gift that will fund the construction of a new home on its 600-acre Batesville campus. This generous donation will help ASYR continue providing hope, healing, and a place for Arkansas children in crisis to call home for generations to come.

The generous donors are longtime supporters of the Ranch, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Raney of Ozark. Mr. and Mrs. Raney sought no recognition; they only wished to see their support of ASYR fulfilled through the construction of a new home within their lifetime.

“With this extraordinarily generous gift, the Raney family is leaving an incredible legacy of love,” said Nancy Fulton, CEO of the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches. “Generations of children will grow up in this home surrounded by care, encouragement, and the opportunity to thrive. For many of them, it will be the first place they have ever felt truly safe and supported, and that is a true blessing.”

Upon its completion, Raney Hall will house up to eight children and increase the organization’s capacity to serve more children each year. The new home will be designed to provide family-style living, complete with shared common spaces, private bedrooms, and the warmth of a household environment, thanks to the support of caring houseparents.

The Ranch is 100 percent privately funded, and with the generous support of the community, supplies all the needs associated with raising a child. From finding loving houseparents to providing suitable shelter, medical care, healthy food, clothing, and educational expenses, ASYR seeks to create sustainable and lifelong change for Arkansas children.
