Larry Stone, executive creative director at Stone Ward, a full-service advertising, marketing, digital and public relations agency, will be receiving the 20th Annual Arkansas Children’s Award at a dinner in his honor on October 14. The dinner, which benefits the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches, honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to create better opportunities for Arkansas’s youth.

“For years, Larry Stone has given his time, talent and treasure to the boys and girls who call the Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches home, and he could have been honored every year,” said Greg Hatcher, the 2015 dinner chair for the event. “He is a great citizen to the state of Arkansas working on so many community projects. We are thrilled to recognize him as this year’s Arkansas Children’s Award recipient.”

Stone has been one of the key driving forces in the success of the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches for nearly two decades. Since 1996, Stone has served on the Ranches’ board of trustees, 10 years of which he served as board president. He has been a steady and consistent thought leader, donor and volunteer. He also played a major role in the development of the Arkansas Children’s Award Dinner, which has raised nearly $3.4 million since its conception 20 years ago, to support the children at the Ranches.

Since founding Stone Ward in 1984, Stone has dedicated much of the agency’s pro bono services to helping children across the state with the company’s moto “Building Good” as the motivation for that work. He has actively led efforts with many nonprofit organizations that serve children, including the Arkansas Arts Center, United Way of Central Arkansas, Make-A-Wish Mid-South, Thea Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Bridge2Rwanda and many others.

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe, last year’s Arkansas Children’s Award recipient, will make his 19th appearance as master of ceremonies for the Award Dinner. The 20th Annual Arkansas Children’s Award Dinner will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at the Little Rock Marriott. A silent auction and reception will begin at 6:00 pm, and the dinner program and live auction will begin at 7:00 pm in the Grand Ballroom.

The Arkansas Children’s Award Dinner is an annual event benefiting the programs at the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches and recognizing an individual or organization who personifies in word and deed the ideals of the Ranch and has made outstanding contributions to create better opportunities for Arkansas’s youth.
